Marquee - Singapore's Largest Nightclub at Marina Bay

SINGAPORE - The nightlife scene here is about to take on new life with the Republic's largest nightclub, Marquee Singapore, which will open on April 12 at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

The Space - formerly occupied by one of the theaters of Marina Bay - is more than twice as large as Zouk at Clarke Quay and Ce La Vi on the roof of MBS, which measures approximately 900 square meters.

Covering an area of 2,300 m2 and spanning three floors surmounted by a 30-meter high ceiling, the party's playground will house an eight-arm large indoor wheel - with a photo booth in each module - offering a view of the dance floor. A three-story slide will also add to the carnival atmosphere.

Marquee Singapore is the latest in a series of outposts set up by the Marquee New York, which opened in 2003. The club, owned by Tao Group - one of the leading nightlife businesses, entertainment, and dining in the United States - also has outlets in Las Vegas and Sydney.

The Marquee club component is part of a multi-concept entertainment and dining destination that will also house Avenue, a speakeasy-style lounge that will open in May, as well as Koma, a Japanese restaurant and a sushi bar, which will open in the year.

As part of the opening, there will be an event on the red carpet, as well as a slew of internationally renowned DJs who will step onto the decks. The programming is not yet announced, although Marquee outlets are known to welcome DJs such as Armin Van Buuren and Kaskade and rappers Post Malone and Travis Scott.

Avenue is a club concept that started in New York in 2009. The celebrity hideout also opened in Los Angeles in 2017. With features like a mini-gym, bowling and an arcade with vintage pinball machines, and an inclination towards hip-hop and rock-n-roll music, it will be a more exclusive and intimate space than the main Marquee nightclub.

"Singapore has proven to be a strong heart and soul in Asia for us within the Tao group," said co-founder Noah Tepperberg in a statement on February 22. "We are delighted and humbled to play a role in shaping the future of Singapore's entertainment and dining landscape, and to bring about an exciting integration of concepts for clients in Singapore and beyond."

The triple opening of Marquee, Avenue, and Koma in Singapore this year is the most ambitious expansion ever by Tao Group, which launched its business here with the opening of the Lavo rooftop restaurant and bar at the top of the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark in January of last year. The four concepts that come here are the result of a partnership between Marina Bay Sands belonging to Las Vegas Sands and Tao Group.

The hope is that the three locations "improve Singapore's food and nightlife scene," according to Las Vegas Sands vice president of global food and nightlife development, Patrick Lang.

"The launch of these concepts is part of the company's strategy to continually reinvest in our properties and to introduce innovative concepts and renowned global brands that will attract new and repeat visitors."
